Services:Case management assists individuals eligible for services from the Division of Developmental Disabilities in accessing comprehensive medical, social, educational, and other specialized services. Services:The CYSHCN Program provides assistance statewide for children and youth with special health care needs from birth to age 21. The program focuses on early identification and service coordination for children and youth who meet medical eligibility guidelines. As payor of last resort, the program provides limited funding for
medically necessary diagnostic and treatment services for children whose families also meet financial eligibility guidelines. First Steps of Northeast Missouri/ The Dahlberg Group, LLC
Description of Services: First Steps is Missouri’s early intervention system for infants and toddlers. First Steps is a program for children between the ages of birth and 36 months who either 1) have a diagnosed physical or mental condition associated with developmental disabilities. or 2) have a condition with high probability of resulting in a developmental delay or disability, or 3) are functioning at half the developmental level expected for a child of equal age in one of the following areas: communication, adaptive, physical (including vision and hearing), cognitive or social/emotional. Parents may be referred to First Steps by their child’s doctors, hospital staff, social-service agency caseworkers, the Parents as Teachers program, daycare providers or other public health entities.
